NATICK: Dorothy L. (Peak) Schultz, 92, died peacefully under the care and comfort of her family on Monday, April 1, 2013 following a period of declining health. She was born in Cambridge on April 5, 1920 the daughter of the late William H. Peak and Gertrude M. (O’Brien) Peak. Dorothy is survived by her children Paula Schultz Lemiere of Fairfax, VA; Janet Schultz Roy of Eastham; William L. Schultz of Natick; Gerard P. Schultz of Holliston and Mark C. Schultz of Woonsocket, RI. Sister of Edward W. Peak of Dedham. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late Paul L. Schultz who died in February of 1985 and sister of the late Philip G. Peak. Dorothy has been a resident of Natick for over 46 years and previously resided in Boylston. She spent her formative years in Dedham and graduated with honors from Dedham High School. She was a graduate of the Carney Hospital School of Nursing and was a registered nurse at Carney in the Obstetrics department. In 1945 she received the Excellence in Medical Nursing Award from the hospital. For several years, she was the President of St. Mary’s on the Hill in Boylston and was a member of the St. Zepherins Womens Club for many years. For several years she was a registered nurse on the OB/GYN Unit at the Hanneman Hospital in Worcester. She retired in 1984 after many years of dedicated of service in the home nursing care profession. Dorothy also served as a reporter for the Boylston area with the Worcester Telegram and Gazette, as a Librarian Clerk at the Boylston Library and also worked in the accounts department at New England Telephone for several years. In the 1970’s, she spent countless hours working with addicts through Project Discovery in Brighton to find ways of treatment and prevention for drug abuse. She was an active communicant of St Zepherins Parish and served on several committees over the years. Memorial Visitations will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherins Church, 99 Main St (Rte 27), Wayland. Interment will follow in the Schultz family lot in St. Zepherins Parish Cemetery.
